You are being invited to participate in a research study that will assess potential weight bias at the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre (GBACHC). Weight bias is defined as “devaluing attitudes and judgments towards individuals based on their body weight” and its presence may affect the care received by individuals who are subjected to such bias.

To be eligible to participate in this study you must be over the age of 18, have used health services at the GBACHC in the past two years, self-identify as a person of high weight and understand English enough to complete our survey.

While you may not receive any personal benefit from participating in this study, the information gathered in the study will help GBACHC staff understand whether weight bias exists at the GBACHCs and may lead to changes to better serve high-weight clients in the future.

This study involves the completion of a one-time survey that will take approximately 15-20 min to complete. Click here to go to the online survey.

If you wish to receive a paper copy of the survey to complete, please contact the administrative desk (check in) at the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre.

Your participation in this study is voluntary. You may refuse to participate, refuse to answer any questions or withdraw from the study at any time without any consequences or explanation.

Thank you for considering to be a part of this study.
