In recognition of Pride Month in Canada, the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre (GBACHC) extends best wishes for health and wellbeing to 2SLGBTQ+ people living in the area. The GBACHC celebrates the diversity 2SLGBTQ+ people bring to the community!

The GBACHC recognizes that people who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ face barriers and unique challenges in accessing health care. It’s also known that people who are 2SLGBTQ+ continue to experience stigma and discrimination in all aspects of their lives and face poorer health outcomes as a result.

To prevent 2SLGBTQ+ stigma and barriers to health care, the GBACHC is aligned with the health equity charter developed by the Alliance for Healthier Communities (Alliance). The Alliance is the voice of a network of Ontario community-governed primary health care organizations including the GBACHC. The charter is a foundational document that guides GBACHC’s efforts in recognizing and confronting barriers to equitable health for all. Health equity is woven into the GBACHC’s strategic plan, Board work, health promotion and daily operations. Read the full charter here.
