Persistent pain is life changing, chronic, painful, sad, profound, isolating and challenging! BUT it doesn’t have to be. Having participated in the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre’s Persistent Pain Management Program, I learned various holistic (whole body) approached to cope with persistent pain. I very much gained both a sense of control, but I was also able to learn to view my persistent pain in a different way. Education is powerful and receiving the knowledge of why my body was responding in the way it was has made a huge impact on my day-to-day pain management. I encourage you – if you are experiencing persistent pain, invest in yourself, have an open mind and take this course. No, it doesn’t cure you, but it is an integral tool to have in arsenal! – Sherry Seelen
