At the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre (GBACHC), your health and safety matter to us. Wearing a mask is one of the simple ways we help protect patients, visitors, and staff—especially during times when coughs, colds, flu, or other respiratory illnesses are spreading.

When Is a Mask Required?

If you have symptoms like a cough, fever, sore throat, or a runny nose, you must wear a mask while you are inside the GBACHC. This applies to both waiting areas and other spaces, not just exam rooms.

When Is Masking Recommended?

Masking is strongly encouraged for patients, visitors, and caregivers when:

  • You are in waiting rooms

  • You are receiving care from our staff

  • It is respiratory illness season (such as fall and winter)

Wearing a mask helps protect people who may be more vulnerable to getting very sick.

Masks Are Easy to Find

Need a mask? No problem. Masks are available at entrances and throughout clinical areas of the GBACHC. Just help yourself.

Special Care Areas

Some areas of the GBACHC care for people who have weaker immune systems or higher health risks. In these spaces, everyone may be required to wear a mask. If this applies to your visit, our care team will let you know.

During Illness Outbreaks

If there is an outbreak of a respiratory illness, extra safety steps may be put in place. This could include required masking for visitors or limiting visits to essential care partners only.

Feeling Sick? Please Consider Waiting

Visitors who have respiratory symptoms are encouraged to delay their visit unless it is essential. This small choice can make a big difference for others.

Mask Exemptions

We understand that not everyone can wear a mask for medical reasons. People who cannot tolerate a mask for health reasons, as well as children under five who cannot wear one safely, are exempt. Our healthcare staff will continue to wear protective equipment to keep everyone safe.

Thank you for helping us create a safe and welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors!
