The Grand Bend Area Health Centre (GBACHC) offers rewarding ways to volunteer in our services, programs and outreach partnerships. Volunteering at the GBACHC is a great way to meet new people and become part of a community that fosters a healthier public.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Exercise Instructor/Assistant
This volunteer opportunity is with the Functional Fitness program facilitated by the GBACHC Kinesiologist. It’s a three-hour, twice-weekly committment. Qualifications in the Centre For Activity and Aging Senior Fitness Training Program and CPR training would be an asset.
Community Advisory Council
The Community Advisory Council (CAC) is a partnership of patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and the community. The Council serves in an advisory capacity making recommendations on matters influencing patients and program participants. The CAC is guided by the by Ontario Declaration of Patient Values and provides feedback and advice to the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre.
Membership
All residents in the catchment area are welcome to become members of the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre corporation. Corporate members may attend and vote at the annual general meeting and may apply to become a board director.
Board of Directors
Collective input, partnerships and collaboration are key to the success of GBACHC and new perspectives are always welcome. Applications to become a member of the Board of Directors will be accepted each spring.
Social Connector
The Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre (GBACHC) is looking for people interested in helping others find the community resources they need. No experience required – the GBACHC will provide Connectedness Coaching Social Connectors volunteer training.
