FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MP to Present Federal Funding for Social Prescribing for Better Mental Health Project
The Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre (GBACHC) is pleased to announce that Leanne Rood, Member of Parliament for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, will be visiting on Monday, April 3, 2023, to present federal funding for the Social Prescribing for Better Mental Health Project.
The project aims to build on past success in helping people be less lonely, improve their mental health, and help them feel part of a community. The funding from the federal government will allow the project to expand and reach more individuals in need of support during these challenging times.
The GBACHC is grateful for the federal government’s funding and the support of local MP, Leanne Rood, in promoting mental health initiatives. The GBACHC is committed to continuing to provide innovative and effective programs that help people manage their mental health and wellbeing.
Also attending the funding announcement is Jennifer Rayner, Director of Research and Evaluation at the Alliance for Healthier Communities (Alliance). Jennifer will explain how the Social Prescribing for Better Mental Health project will impact the work of 28 Alliance member organizations in communities across Ontario, including the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre.
Members of the media and the public are invited to attend the funding announcement with MP Leanne Rood on Monday, April 3, 2023, at 9:30 am at the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre, located at 69 Main St. East, Grand Bend, ON.
